On Tuesday, the Telangana State People’s Governance Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Gadwal. A.P. Jitender Reddy, the Telangana Government’s Special Representative and Sports Affairs Advisor, was the chief guest at the event. He was welcomed with a guard of honor by the district administration and later hoisted the national flag.

A.P. Jitender Reddy, while speaking at the event, emphasized that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Telangana is marking September 17 as People’s Governance Day. He pointed out that the government began delivering on its promises within just 48 hours of coming to power, fulfilling commitments made to the people.

One of the key achievements he mentioned was the implementation of two out of six major guarantees within the first 48 hours. The government prioritized women by introducing free travel for women in the RTC buses, benefiting 871.2 million women across the state and saving ₹2,958 crore. In the Jogulamba Gadwal district alone, 11 million women benefited from this scheme, saving ₹355.5 crore.

He further highlighted the government’s efforts to improve healthcare by raising the Arogya Sri scheme’s health coverage limit from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh and adding 163 new treatments. In the Jogulamba Gadwal district, 4,480 poor individuals received free medical services under this scheme.

Additionally, the government launched the “Mahalakshmi Scheme,” which provides cooking gas at a subsidized rate of ₹500. This scheme has helped 4.29 million people across the state, including 90,048 beneficiaries in the Jogulamba Gadwal district.

To reduce electricity costs, the government introduced the “Gruha Jyothi Scheme,” offering free electricity up to 200 units. This initiative benefits 4.86 million families across Telangana. In the Jogulamba Gadwal district, 292,000 families received ₹77.6 crore in subsidies through this scheme.

The government is also focusing on housing for the poor and disadvantaged communities. It plans to build 450,000 homes this fiscal year under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. In addition, farmers have received significant support, with loans up to ₹2 lakh being waived. This has helped 2.22 million farmers, with ₹17,869 crore transferred directly to their accounts. In the Jogulamba Gadwal district, 45,202 farmers benefited, receiving ₹3,927.9 million under the loan waiver.

Looking ahead, the government plans to join the “Fasal Bima Yojana” to provide farmers with crop insurance. To improve education, the Telangana Education Commission has been set up, and there are plans to convert Anganwadi centers into pre-primary schools and build integrated model schools for students from marginalized communities.

A.P. Jitender Reddy concluded by stating that these initiatives are greatly contributing to the welfare of the people in Telangana, helping the state progress rapidly. The event also featured cultural performances by government school students, and the chief guest presented mementos to the students and teachers.

Earlier in the day, District Collector B.M. Santosh and District SP Srinivas Rao paid respects to martyrs at the memorial in Smriti Van on Rajiv Marg.

Several important officials were present at the event, including District Collector B.M. Santosh, District SP Srinivas Rao, Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, Alampur MLA Vijayudu, Additional Collectors Narsinga Rao and Srinivas Rao, RDO Ram Chander, AO Veerabhadrappa, and other district officials.
