Hyderabad: Telangana has been ranked number one in the country for police performance, according to the India Justice Report–2025.
The report evaluated police departments across India using 32 different performance indicators. States were divided into two categories for comparison: large states with a population of over 10 million, and small states with fewer than 10 million people.
Among the large states, Telangana topped the list with a score of 6.48. It was followed by Andhra Pradesh with 6.44, Karnataka with 6.19, Chhattisgarh with 6.02, and Maharashtra with 5.61.
Last year, Telangana was ranked third. This year, it moved up to first place. Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. Jitender, said the achievement shows the continued hard work and commitment of the Telangana Police in maintaining law and order and keeping the public safe.
