In the upcoming assembly elections on November 30, Kollapur constituency will witness a fierce political battle between the current MLA, Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy, and former minister Jupally Krishna Rao. Both candidates are using different strategies, making the outcome of the election uncertain.

Harshavardhan Reddy is running an extensive campaign, reaching out to his supporters in both rural and urban areas. He is conducting door-to-door canvassing and holding regular community meetings with local leaders. He emphasizes the welfare and development programs implemented by the BRS government in the past decade, highlighting achievements such as road constructions and various welfare schemes.

On the other hand, Jupally Krishna Rao, representing the Congress party, is focusing on attracting the youth vote and capitalizing on the perceived shortcomings of the BRS party in providing employment opportunities. He positions himself as a victim of these policies, aiming to resonate with rural youth. However, political analysts note that winning half of the uncertain votes will be crucial for his victory.

One significant factor in Harshavardhan’s favor is his strategic defection of key leaders, including Jogu Nagaseshu, who was previously aligned with Jupally. This has reshaped the political landscape in favor of the BRS party. Disenchanted cadres from the Kollapur Congress party are also joining Harshavardhan’s camp, adding to his momentum.
