Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have criticized the Union Budget, claiming that the Central government has neglected Telangana. They argue that beyond the routine financial devolutions, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not allocate funds for major projects proposed by the state government.

In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) refuted these claims. They highlighted that Hyderabad is set to receive Rs. 10,000 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund. Additionally, a similar amount will be allocated under the AMRUT scheme. The BJP also mentioned that about 7.5 lakh street vendors will benefit from credit cards, gig workers will receive identity cards, and 125 urban local bodies in the state will benefit from the SVANidhi scheme.

However, critics point out that these schemes are part of broader national programs and not specific to Telangana. They emphasize that there has been no special allocation for the state in the Union Budget.
