Hyderabad: Prof Devika P Madalli, head of the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) in Gujarat, had a meeting with Prof V Balakista Reddy, leader of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). The discussion focused on enhancing academic and research facilities in Telangana‘s public universities.
Prof Devika shared how INFLIBNET can support these universities. Plans include holding orientation and training sessions for researchers, supervisors, and students. A strong system will be set up to monitor and ensure the effective use of these services.
A major part of the collaboration is creating the ‘Telangana Catalogue’ (TelCat). This state-level catalog will provide easy access to bibliographic data across universities. Additionally, ongoing support will be provided to the Education Department and universities in Telangana. This aims to build long-term capacity and smoothly integrate the services into the academic framework.
