Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is introducing over 7,754 special buses from Hyderabad’s suburbs for the Dasara festival. This year, there will be 617 more buses than last year to ensure smooth travel for everyone.
Starting September 20 and running until October 2, these buses will help people travel to their hometowns for the festival. For those returning, buses will be available based on demand on October 5 and 6.
Special buses will depart from key locations like MGBS, JBS, CBS, LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, Santosh Nagar, and KPHB. They will travel across Telangana and to other states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Ticket prices for these special buses will be adjusted to cover minimum diesel costs for their return trips, as per state government’s orders. Regular bus fares remain unchanged during this period.
TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar mentioned that special camps will be set up in busy areas, offering facilities like tents, benches, and drinking water to enhance passenger convenience.
Supervisory officers will manage major sites to ensure buses meet passenger needs. TGSRTC is working with police and transport officials to ensure safe travel.
Sajjanar advised against using private vehicles with white number plates during the festival rush. He highlighted the skill of TGSRTC drivers in ensuring safe journeys.
He encouraged booking seats in advance for Bathukamma and Dussehra special buses via the official website tgsrtcbus.in. For more details, passengers can contact the TGSRTC call center at 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
