Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association (THCAA) held a special meeting on Wednesday and passed a resolution criticizing the Supreme Court Collegium’s decision to transfer two High Court judges. The judges in question are Justice Perugu Sree Sudha and Justice Kasoju Surender. The association believes the transfers were done without proper attention and strongly opposed the move.
THCAA president A. Jagan said that they have requested an appointment with Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna. Once they meet him, they plan to share their concerns and submit the resolution expressing their disagreement with the transfers. Jagan also mentioned that he has been invited to the Allahabad High Court on April 26 to attend a lecture on “Judicial Accountability.”
On the same day, THCAA members staged a protest in front of Gate 6 of the court. They condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, calling it a cowardly act that targeted innocent civilians. Jagan stated that the attack was a strike against the nation’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty. He urged the government to take strong and immediate action to prevent such incidents.
THCAA secretary Khaja Vizarath Ali also spoke during the protest, describing the attack as a terrible act that shocked the entire country. He offered deep condolences to the families of the victims and called for peace and unity across the nation.
Several advocates, including V. Raghunath, K. V. Rama Rao, Srinivas Yadav, and Sambasiva Rao, took part in the protest.
