    The Chief Secretary of Telangana State, Santhi Kumari, praised the Commercial tax department for their great work in the year 2022-23. She encouraged them to keep up the hard work and reach this year’s revenue target of 85,000 crores by focusing on stopping evasion. The Chief Secretary had a meeting with senior officials from the department and asked them to find hidden areas to bring in more resources.

    She was happy with the innovative suggestions from senior officials to increase revenue and asked them to build up their skills to get more people to pay taxes and stop evasion. She told the Commissioner to review cases every two weeks and asked officials to map out potential areas for increasing revenue.

    The Commercial Tax officials suggested strengthening the enforcement wing and encouraging voluntary compliance. The Commissioner, Additional Commissioners, Joint Commissioners, and other officials all attended the meeting.
