The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) and Gudimalkapur police have arrested three individuals involved in drugs. They confiscated cocaine, LSD, ecstasy pills, ganja, two cars, Rs 72,500 in cash, and five mobile phones worth a total of Rs 32.89 lakh. The arrested individuals are B Balaji, a businessman and former Navy officer aged 34, K Venkataratna Reddy, a film financer aged 47, and D Murali, a railway employee aged 42.

According to the police, Balaji, originally from Nellore, regularly hosts drug parties with his friends in Hyderabad. Over time, he established direct contacts with Nigerians to obtain drugs from Bangalore and bring them to Hyderabad. He also sells drugs to customers and important people in the film industry.

Balaji regularly purchases drugs from four individuals, three of whom are Nigerians residing in Bangalore and one from Visakhapatnam. He became associated with Venkataratna, a film financer who financed Balaji’s drug business. “Venkataratna was financing Balaji’s drug business by purchasing drugs and selling them for profit,” said TSNAB Superintendent of Police, D Sunitha Reddy.

Acting on credible information, Balaji was apprehended in Gudimalkapur on Wednesday with drugs. Venkataratna and Murali were present in the flat along with two women. Venkataratna had promised the women roles in movies. Four individuals who supplied drugs to Balaji and 18 consumers are currently on the run.
