Wanaparthy: On Monday, MLA Thudi Megha Reddy celebrated several activists who were part of the Telangana movement by presenting them with shawls. He also took part in laying the foundation stone for a Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial at Vivekananda Crossroads.
During the event, the MLA suggested renaming the crossroads near the medical college in Wanaparthy to ‘Telangana Crossroads.’ He also announced plans to install a Telangana Talli statue next to the martyrs’ memorial. Thudi assured that Telangana activists in Wanaparthy would receive recognition and support, including Indiramma houses, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam benefits, and 250-yard plots.
Thudi mentioned that the new IT tower planned for the area would be named in honor of TG ideologue Prof Jayashankar. He criticized the mistreatment of iconic leaders like Gaddar but praised the Congress government for appointing Gaddar’s daughter, Vennela, as the State president of the Telangana Cultural wing.
