The demand for Congress party tickets for BCs (Backward Classes) is still unresolved as the high command has not given any assurance to BC leaders. A 40-member BC delegation, led by senior leaders Madhu Yashki Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar, Mahesh Kumar Goud, V Hanumantha Rao, PonnalaLaxmaiah, and Shabbir Ali, met with AICC general secretary K Venugopal to discuss the issue. The BC leaders expressed their demand for more seats for BCs in the upcoming Assembly elections, citing TPCC’s recent decision to allot two seats to BCs in each Lok Sabha segment in the State. However, the high command believes that prioritizing winning candidates is crucial in finalizing BC tickets due to the low chances of success for BC leaders in many Assembly segments. Venugopal assured the delegation that the party will prioritize BCs in ticket finalization based on fresh survey reports, but a positive response is yet to be received despite their week-long pursuit of the issue.
