A serious accident occurred on the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway near Chevella in Ranga Reddy district. A collision involving an RTC bus and a tipper truck resulted in the deaths of 17 people, with several others sustaining severe injuries. The injured were quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment.
At the time of the accident, the bus carried around 70 passengers. The tipper truck, loaded with gravel, collided with the bus. The impact was so severe that the tipper driver and 17 others died instantly. The gravel from the tipper spilled into the bus, increasing the number of casualties.
The accident caused a major traffic jam on the Chevella-Vikarabad route, prompting police to use cranes to clear the vehicles from the road. Officials suggest that high speed was a significant factor in the crash, and there is a possibility that the death toll could rise further.
