Update: The U-Turn was reopened on the 30th November Afternoon.
Hyderabad, November 30, 2025 – The Tolichowki U-turn, which was opened during the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign, has been closed again just days after the election concluded with a Congress victory, leaving residents questioning the sincerity of political promises.
Election-Time Opening
During the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign, the U-turn was opened following requests from Satva Magnus building residents and others in the area who had long complained about traffic inconvenience.
Political Credit War
Both the BRS and Congress parties claimed credit for opening the U-turn, with each asserting they had responded to residents’ demands and secured the necessary permissions to reopen the crucial traffic point.
The opening was highlighted by both parties as evidence of their responsiveness to public concerns during the intense campaign period.
Post-Election Closure
However, just days after the election and Congress candidate Naveen Yadav’s victory, the U-turn has been closed again, reverting to the previous situation that had caused frustration among local residents.
Residents’ Frustration
“This is exactly what we feared—the U-turn was opened for votes and closed as soon as the election ended,” said a frustrated resident of the area. “Both parties made tall claims during the campaign, but now we’re back to square one.”
Satva Magnus building residents, who had specifically requested the U-turn’s opening, feel betrayed by what they perceive as a purely election-driven decision rather than a genuine solution to their traffic concerns.
