Tourist in Thailand Survives Bungee Jump Mishap When Cord Snaps During 10-story Fall, Captured on Camera

A tourist from Hong Kong had a narrow escape after his bungee cord snapped during a jump at an amusement park in Pattaya, Thailand. The incident occurred in January this year, but the victim, known only as Mike, recently decided to share his story. Video footage of the terrifying moment went viral after he went public. Mike had taken a swan dive off a 10-storey-high podium, but the bungee rope snapped milliseconds before he reached the bottom of the jump, causing him to plunge into the water below. The tourist survived the fall but was left covered in bruises. He had signed a liability waiver before making the jump and the park refunded his fee and paid for his x-ray and ultrasound scans. The park’s founder confirmed it was the first time he had seen a cord snap during a bungee jump.
