Hyderabad: On Saturday, Rachakonda traffic police took a unique approach to promote road safety by using the Raksha Bandhan festival. Officers hit the streets with rakhis to spread awareness among bikers.

Instead of issuing fines, they chose to tie rakhis on the wrists of those not wearing helmets. This gesture aimed to highlight the importance of safety.

The police shared on social media, “During the Rakhi festival, we tied rakhis to two-wheeler riders without helmets, sending a loving message: ‘Your life is precious to us.'”

They emphasized that just like a rakhi, wearing a helmet offers life-saving protection.
