A leopard died in a road accident near Mujagada village in Ganjam district of Odisha. The accident happened on Tuesday night when the leopard was crossing the road and was hit by a heavy vehicle. The incident took place at Ghumsur North Forest Division.
Local people informed the police and forest officials when they found the injured leopard lying on the road. Unfortunately, the leopard couldn’t survive and died while being taken to a veterinary hospital. An investigation is being carried out by the forest officials to understand the details of the incident.
According to a forest official, there have been no leopard sightings in the area for the past few years. It is suspected that the leopard might have come from a forest in Kalahandi district.
