Hyderabad: On Sunday, members of the suburban train travelers association and daily rail passengers submitted a request to South Central Railway. They asked officials to build a new MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) station near Moulali Railway Quarters.

According to the association members, the development work for the new terminal at Charlapally is almost complete and is awaiting inauguration. Last year, the railways introduced a pair of MMTS trains running from Ghatkesar to Lingampally via the Sanathanagar bypass line. These trains have been helpful for employees working in Hitech City and nearby areas.

However, the passengers feel that the train frequency needs to be increased. They also requested new stations at Loyola College area and Anandbagh.

For the Anandbagh station, members explained that there isn’t enough space for parking at the proposed site. As a solution, they suggested shifting the location to Railway Colony LC Gate No 21, which is in Moulali, where two railway tracks run parallel.
