These Traffic Assistants will be stationed at various junctions across the city. Their responsibilities include managing vehicular movement, ensuring road safety, and addressing traffic-related issues. Their inclusion in the workforce is seen as a milestone in providing opportunities and promoting equality for marginalized communities.

Commissioner C.V. Anand praised the dedication and commitment of the transgender recruits. He stated, “This initiative reflects our commitment to building an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and excel.”

It is hoped that this move will pave the way for greater acceptance and integration of marginalized communities in other sectors as well.
