The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is launching 50 electric AC buses on the Vijayawada route. These buses have been designed to be friendly to the environment and provide passengers with high-tech facilities. They have mobile charging points, redid lights, and a panic button for safety. The buses can travel up to 325 kilometres on a single charge and have a capacity of 41 seats. Passenger safety is a top priority, so each bus is equipped with a vehicle tracking system, three CCTV cameras, a Fire Detection Suppression System (FDSS), and a reverse parking assistance camera. Olectra Greentech Limited is providing the buses.

During an inspection, TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar advised officials not to compromise on the facilities and make the buses available to passengers as soon as possible. He expressed hope that the electric buses would be popular due to their environment-friendly nature and high-tech features. TSRTC plans to make some of the buses available to passengers by next month, providing better and quality services to the public.
