Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tulsi Gowda and Sukri Bommagowda, who are both Padma Shri award winners, in Ankola, Karnataka. The meeting was emotional and heartwarming. In a video of the meeting, PM Modi can be seen shaking their hands and stopping Tulsi Gowda from touching his feet. He asked for their blessings instead. You can watch the video here:
In 2021, Tulasi Gowda received the Padma Shri award for her work promoting environmental conservation. Sukri Bommagowda, also known as the “Nightingale of Halakki,” received the Padma Shri award for folk singing in 2017.
