Twitter puts Daily Reading Limit on tweets

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has restricted users from reading posts in order to prevent unauthorized access by imposing a cap on their content consumption via the social medium. As of now, this social media platform will require everyone to log in to their account to access the content on the platform.

According to complaints made by thousands of its users this Saturday, the newly imposed restrictions will lock its users out after consuming hundreds of tweets. Musk clarified the situation on Friday, explaining that it was a temporary data security measure. Elon Musk moved forward with protecting the data from misuse as data from the freely accessible platform was used to train artificial intelligence, such as Chat GPT.

Following backlash for the elaborate content limits for users, which were set early for unverified accounts, the daily limit of content consumption will be limited to 600, while the content consumption limit for verified accounts is 6,000 posts, respectively. Musk increased the content threshold for unverified accounts from 600 to 800 posts and from 6000 to now 8000 posts for verified accounts.

The online outage complaints from thousands of Twitter users on Saturday resulted in the repulsive effects of the viral spread of the hashtag #TwitterDown, which trended in some parts of the world.
