A tragic accident at an under-construction building in Al Hasnath Colony, Tolichowki claimed the lives of two workers and left three others injured on Thursday, March 5. The incident occurred when scaffolding suddenly collapsed at a seven-storey apartment building where construction work was underway.
According to an official from the Tolichowki Police, the accident took place around 4 pm when the labourers were working on the construction site. The scaffolding structure gave way without warning, causing the workers to fall from a significant height. The sudden collapse left no time for the workers to escape or take safety measures.
Two workers died on the spot due to the severity of their injuries sustained in the fall. Their bodies were immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for post-mortem examination and further formalities. The police have begun the process of identifying the deceased workers and notifying their families.
The three injured workers were rushed to Olive Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Medical staff at the hospital are currently providing care to the injured labourers. Police officials confirmed that one of the injured workers is in critical condition and is being closely monitored by the medical team.
The Tolichowki Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the scaffolding collapse. Authorities are examining whether proper safety protocols were followed at the construction site and if the scaffolding structure met the required safety standards. The police are also looking into the possibility of negligence on the part of the building contractors or site supervisors.
