Illegal sand mining has started again in Koilkonda. A large amount of sand has been dumped near Suraram Bridge.

Diddi Praveen Kumar, a social activist and president of the Nenu Saitam organization, has asked District Collector Vijeyendra Boyi to take action. He wants the authorities to seize the illegally dumped sand, which is worth Rs 30-40 lakh.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Praveen Kumar said that the sand was dumped illegally on Friday night.

He claimed that the sand mafia is active again. They are transporting sand from four unauthorized places in Koilkonda. Nearly 25 to 30 Benz trucks are used every night for this illegal activity.

Despite many complaints, the local police, revenue officials, and mining officials have not taken action against the illegal sand trade.
