K Keshava Rao, the secretary general of BRS, has joined the Congress party, causing disagreements within his family. His son Viplav Kumar expressed sadness at his father’s decision to leave the party. While Keshava Rao and his daughter, city Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, are set to join Congress, Viplav Kumar intends to remain in BRS.
Keshava Rao stated that he joined BRS under pressure from Viplav Kumar and criticized BRS working president KT Rama Rao for influencing Viplav to speak against him. Mayor Vijayalakshmi accused BRS leaders of trying to create rifts within the family by manipulating Viplav to speak against them.
Viplav Kumar lamented his father’s departure from BRS, questioning the timing of leaving the party at his age. He urged Keshava Rao to reconsider joining Congress and suggested that Vijayalakshmi should resign from her position as Mayor before switching parties. Viplav affirmed his commitment to BRS and criticized leaders who claim defection is for development.
Addressing allegations that Revanth Reddy is behind the family rift, Viplav challenged such claims and questioned Reddy’s stance on defections. He expressed skepticism towards the motives behind his father’s decision to join Congress and vowed to remain loyal to BRS.
