Hyderabad: US President Donald J. Trump has expressed gratitude after Hyderabad officially unveiled “Donald Trump Avenue”, a ceremonial designation for the road adjoining the US Consulate General in the city’s Financial District.
Sharing photographs from the inauguration ceremony on his Truth Social account, President Trump wrote:
“The new Donald Trump Avenue in Hyderabad, India — The first U.S. President to ever be honored in this way. Thank you!”

Road Unveiled During Freedom 250 Celebrations
The ceremonial unveiling took place during the Freedom 250 celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
The plaque was jointly unveiled by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in the presence of senior government officials, diplomats and industry leaders.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also attended the event, which celebrated the growing partnership between Telangana and the United States.
Located Beside the US Consulate
The newly designated Donald Trump Avenue is situated beside the US Consulate General in Hyderabad’s Financial District, one of India’s largest technology and business hubs.
The area is home to several American multinational corporations, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and major technology companies including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Apple, Qualcomm and many others.
First US President to Receive the Honour
In his message, President Trump noted that he is the first President of the United States to be honoured in this manner in India.
The naming is part of Telangana’s broader initiative to recognise globally significant personalities and strengthen Hyderabad’s international identity as a destination for investment, innovation and diplomacy.

Speaking during the Freedom 250 celebrations, Telangana leaders described the road naming as a symbolic gesture reflecting Hyderabad’s growing role in strengthening India-US relations.
