Hyderabad: The Union Ministry of Jal Shakti has given directions to the State government to form a new committee. This committee will study and suggest ways to manage sediment in reservoirs.
The State government has created a three-member Cabinet Sub Committee for this purpose. The committee is led by State Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Their job is to come up with guidelines to help restore the storage capacity of the reservoirs in the State.

The first meeting of this committee will take place at Hyderabad’s Jala Soudha on Friday. The other members of the committee are State Agriculture Minister T Nageshwara Rao and Excise Minister J Krishna Rao.
