    N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, a senior leader and MP of the Telangana Congress, expressed his disappointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the state. According to Reddy, Modi did not announce any significant projects for Telangana and instead inaugurated projects that had already been announced years ago and were delayed. Reddy specifically pointed out the AIIMS Bibinagar project, which was approved by the Union Cabinet in December 2018 with Rs. 1,028 crores allocated for it, but only Rs. 31.71 crore has been released so far. The project’s original completion deadline of September 2022 has been extended multiple times, most recently to January 2025, but the Centre has remained silent on the current deadline. Reddy also accused the BJP government of discrimination against Telangana, as the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act mandated the establishment of an AIIMS in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, but the AIIMS in Telangana has not received the same level of funding as others across the country.
