Varun assumes role as C&MD of NPDCL in Warangal

Karnati Varun Reddy, an IAS officer, has taken charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (C&MD) of the Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSNPDCL) in Hanumakonda. Before this role, Varun served as the district collector of Nirmal. He expressed his commitment to meeting customer expectations in his new position.

Varun has also worked as the additional collector of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, where he played a significant role in implementing various schemes. One notable achievement was his contribution to the execution of the Poshan Abhiyan program, which earned him the Prime Minister’s award for excellence in public administration. Varun also facilitated the establishment of a mobile theatre by women self-help groups in the district. Additionally, he served as the Project Officer (PO) of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Utnoor.

Varun, who is originally from Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district, secured the 7th rank in the UPSC exam. He holds a B Tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay. Varun’s parents are P Nagamani, the Agriculture Department’s additional director, and Dr Janardhan Reddy, an ophthalmologist. It is worth mentioning that Annamaneni Gopal Rao resigned from the position of C&MD of TSNPDCL on December 7.
