Vikram Singh Mann has been appointed as the new police commissioner of Hyderabad, replacing CV Anand. This change comes as part of a larger transfer of officers in Telangana in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections. The Central Election Commission has transferred a total of 20 IAS, IPS officers, and non-cadre SPs in the state.

As part of these transfers, three police commissioners, four district collectors, ten district SPs, one department secretary, one department director, and one department commissioner have been moved. The government has been asked to propose three names for each position by 5 pm today.

In response to these transfers, DGP Anjani Kumar has appointed new in-charge officers to fill the vacancies. Along with Vikram Singh Mann in Hyderabad, D. Muralidhar will be the in-charge police commissioner of Warangal, and S. Jayaram will be the in-charge police commissioner of Nizamabad. Other officers have also been appointed to various positions in Suryapet, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Jagityal, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal, Mahabubabad, Nirmal, and Bhupalapalli.
