South African left-arm fast bowler Wayne Parnell has been signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a replacement for injured English pacer Reece Topley in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Parnell is not new to the IPL and has previously played for teams like the Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India, and the Mumbai Indians. He has also represented South Africa in 65 ODIs and 40 T20Is, taking 99 and 47 wickets respectively. Parnell’s experience and expertise in the shortest format of the game make him a valuable addition to the RCB squad.
Parnell’s inclusion in the RCB squad brings much-needed depth to their bowling attack, which has been a concern for the team in previous seasons.
