Women are breaking stereotypes and leading innovation in different sectors like agriculture and healthcare. Many female entrepreneurs are working on unique inventions to improve people’s lives. Here are a few inspiring women making a difference.
Helping Disabled People Walk with Ease
Macha Rajitha, a teacher from Medak, has created a multi-purpose walking device for disabled individuals. As a physics teacher at Government High School, Ramayapally, she noticed many disabled people struggling to walk. This inspired her to develop a special walking stick with three foldable legs, allowing users to sit and work comfortably while moving. The stick is lightweight and can support up to 150 kg. Her innovation won her the Rural Innovator Award from the Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) and an award at the Telangana Assistive Technology Exhibition.
Smart Wearable for Worker Safety
Grahya Yalavarthy, the founder of Inviu Systems, has developed a smart wearable device called Suraksha. She has always been passionate about building devices to help people. While in her second year of college, she and her team studied underground mines and realized the need for better communication and safety for workers. This led to the creation of Suraksha, a wearable device that monitors the safety of workers in hazardous locations. Her startup, Inviu Systems, is working on smart wearables for both industrial and medical use. They have received funding and are currently testing the latest version of the device. Grahya’s goal is to develop products that solve real-world problems and make the world a safer place.
Making Menstrual Hygiene More Accessible
Software engineer Vishwaja Reddy has developed an incinerator and a sanitary napkin vending machine. As the co-founder of Hicode Healthcare and Hygiene Partner, she wanted to help women by making sanitary napkins easily available. She collaborated with a manufacturing company to create both manual and automatic vending machines. In addition, she developed incinerators to help dispose of sanitary napkins safely. These machines have been installed at JNTU and several government schools to promote menstrual hygiene.
These women are proving that innovation has no boundaries. Their contributions are making life easier and safer for many people.
