Hyderabad: The World Economic Forum (WEF) president, Borge Brende, expressed full support for Telangana’s ambitious ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision, aiming to reach a $3 trillion economy. Companies like Godrej and Amazon have announced new investments in the state.
During a meeting in New Delhi with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Brende assured full support to Telangana. He praised the state’s impressive progress over the past year and asked about the secrets behind its success. CM Revanth Reddy attributed the success to hard work and collective support. Brende invited the Chief Minister to the next WEF conclave in Davos and promised a visit to Hyderabad for further collaboration discussions.
In meetings with various business leaders, the Chief Minister showcased investment opportunities in Telangana. Godrej will invest over Rs 200 crore to build a new dairy plant for Jersey Cream products. Amazon also announced three major initiatives during the discussions. The company plans to promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Telangana on its platform for exports.
Amazon will also focus on empowering women entrepreneurs in Telangana through its ‘Kalakar’ program. Additionally, Amazon will partner with the government to set up 100 relaxation centers for gig workers across Hyderabad. These centers will offer amenities like parking, mobile charging, and rest areas, open to gig workers from all platforms in air-conditioned facilities.
