    On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to former state chief minister Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna on his death anniversary. Adityanath offered flowers at the statue of the freedom fighter installed at the Yojna Bhawan and remembered his contribution as a freedom fighter. Speaking about Bahuguna’s early life, Adityanath said that he was born in present-day Pauri district of Uttarakhand and became a part of the national freedom movement during his higher education, actively participating in various movements, including the Quit India movement. Adityanath also praised Bahuguna’s able and brilliant leadership as the state’s chief minister and his association with many social and political activities in independent India.

    Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh electricity department employees have been on strike for three days since last night, claiming that their strike has hit power distribution in parts of the state. They sought Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s intervention to end the atmosphere of confrontation.

    In another incident, the death toll in a roof collapse incident at a cold storage in Sambhal district climbed to 10 on Friday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formed a committee to probe the reasons behind it. According to police, these ten were among the 21 pulled out from the rubble at the cold storage located on Indira Road under Chandausi police station limits. So far, 21 people have been rescued, and 10 of them have died.
