Vijayasai Reddy, the leader of the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party, wrote a letter to President Droupadi Murmu asking for help to stop violence against YSRCP supporters by TDP and Jana Sena Party members in Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned many incidents of violence targeting backward classes since the election schedule was announced.

Reddy accused the TDP and its allies of engaging in hate crimes and inciting violence with derogatory remarks against YSRCP members. He listed 27 violent incidents targeting YSRCP leaders and supporters across different Assembly Constituencies, particularly in areas where TDP candidates are influential.

Some examples of violence include a TDP mob attacking a YSRCP councillor with a knife, Janasena Party activists storming a hostel and assaulting people, and TDP workers vandalizing offices and attacking family members of YSRCP leaders. Reddy also highlighted threats and violent actions against SCs, STs, and BCs by TDP cadres.

He criticized the police for not taking action against the violence and claimed that their inaction had emboldened TDP activists. Reddy detailed specific incidents of violence, like attacks on secretariats, clashes between TDP and YSRCP workers, and vandalism of YSRCP properties.

In his letter, Reddy urged the President to intervene and called on the State Police and Home Ministry to take action against the perpetrators. He emphasized the need to identify the culprits through videos and photos and ensure justice is served.
