A case of attempted murder has been filed against Macherla YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy in Amaravati. The police charged him under IPC section 307. Rentachintala Police also filed cases against 15 others under various sections related to the incident.
The incident occurred on May 13 at the Palwai Gate polling booth in Palnadu district. TDP agent Namburi Seshagiri Rao tried to prevent Pinnelli from damaging the EVM. Allegedly, Pinnelli and his associates attacked Rao with rods and sticks after the confrontation.
The police are investigating the matter further to gather more information and evidence regarding the incident.
