    To celebrate World Earth Day, Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad organized a workshop on pottery and clay soil crafts. The event aimed to educate visitors about the importance of biodegradable materials in biodiversity. Renowned handicraft artist Pentaiah and his team demonstrated how to make various items like pots, jars, glasses, and utensils from clay soil.

    Around 500 visitors participated in the program, trying their hand at creating clay pots and other utensils. The Zoo Director (FAC) and Curator were praised for choosing such an educational and practical concept. Dr. Sunil S Hiremath, the Director, congratulated the visitors on World Earth Day, which is celebrated globally on April 22 each year.

    The event was well-received by visitors, who appreciated the opportunity to learn and participate in making eco-friendly items. Due to World Earth Day falling on a Monday this year, the zoo decided to hold the celebration on Sunday when it is usually closed to visitors. A number of officials, including deputy curator A Nagamani and other officers and staff members, were present at the event along with zoo volunteers and students from FCRI, Mulugu.
