As many as 88,000 Ganesh idols had been immersed across Telangana after 1.24 lakh idols were registered statewide, according to Director General of Police CV Anand. The immersion processions remained largely peaceful, he said.
In Hyderabad, more than 25,000 police personnel were deployed to manage the processions and protect public safety. Teams from the Telangana State Special Police (TGSP), Rapid Action Force (RAF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and OCTOPUS were also deployed.
Police monitored key locations through CCTV cameras and command control centres. With the remaining immersions being expedited, Hyderabad was expected to complete the process by 10:30 am on Saturday.
Anand urged devotees to cooperate with police, avoid delays and ensure a safe return home. He said the peaceful celebrations reflected Telangana’s unity and brotherhood.
