Excise officials in Ranga Reddy district destroyed a large quantity of non-duty-paid liquor bottles that were seized for not paying taxes. The destruction happened at the Shamshabad Excise Police Station under Deputy Commissioner Dashrath’s supervision.

A total of 10,222 liters of liquor from 686 cases were poured onto the road and crushed with a road roller. This resulted in a spillage worth over Rs 1.83 crore. Deputy Commissioner Dashrath mentioned that many people buy cheaper liquor from other states to resell in Telangana or for personal use, which is illegal without proper permits.

The officials had permission from higher authorities to carry out the destruction, as it is against the Excise Act to transport liquor between states without paying the necessary taxes.
