The Hyderabad Police conducted a major crackdown on illegal medical practices in the city, arresting 11 fake doctors and one medical shop owner during a special operation. The arrests were made by the Task Force police of the Hyderabad City Police in Jubilee Hills and Secunderabad zones.
According to Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, DCP, Commissioner’s Taskforce, the accused individuals were allegedly practicing medicine using fake degree certificates and fake doctor certificates. The operation exposed a network of fraudulent medical practitioners who had been treating unsuspecting patients across various parts of the city.
During the raids, police seized a substantial amount of evidence including doctor prescriptions, rubber stamps bearing doctors’ names, fake medical certificates, thousands of medicines, glucose bottles, and other medical equipment from the possession of the accused. The seized materials indicated the extensive scale of the illegal operations being conducted.
The fake doctors were reportedly treating between 50 to 100 patients every day and charging fees ranging from ₹50 to ₹200 from each patient. This suggests that the accused had been running profitable illegal medical practices while putting public health at serious risk.
The operation resulted in 6 fake doctors arrested in Secunderabad Zone and 5 fake doctors arrested in Jubilee Hills Zone. The coordinated effort by the Task Force police highlighted the widespread nature of the problem across different areas of Hyderabad.
A total of 11 cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations across the city. The cases are spread across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting the geographic distribution of these illegal practices.
Two cases were registered at Mudarnagar, while one case each was registered at Jubilee Hills, Filmnagar, Borabanda, Ramgopalpet, and Domalguda police stations. Additionally, two cases each were registered at Chilkalguda and in the Old City area, according to the official statement from the DCP.
