1,100 Indian Citizens Evacuated from Sudan as China and US Work to Rescue Nationals from Khartoum | Key Points

Several countries, including India, are evacuating their citizens from Sudan due to ongoing fighting between the army and paramilitaries in the capital city of Khartoum. The conflict has killed over 500 people and left many without access to basic necessities like water, food, medicine, and fuel. Many countries are using air, sea, and land transportation to evacuate their citizens.

India has successfully evacuated more than 1,100 of its citizens from Sudan under Operation Kaveri. Other countries like the UK, China, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Egypt, France, and Japan have also evacuated their citizens from Sudan. The United States is currently exploring potential land routes out of Sudan for its citizens.

The evacuation operations have intensified in recent days as a 72-hour ceasefire took effect on Tuesday. Foreign countries are working to rescue their citizens from conflict-hit Sudan as quickly and safely as possible.
