    About 12% of Rajya Sabha MPs are billionaires, with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana having the highest percentage of such parliamentarians, according to the Association for Democratic Reforms. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and the National Election Watch (NEW) have analyzed and updated the background details of 225 out of 233 Rajya Sabha MPs. Out of these, 5 out of 11 MPs from Andhra Pradesh, 3 out of 7 MPs from Telangana, 3 out of 19 MPs from Maharashtra, 1 out of 3 MPs from Delhi, 2 out of 7 MPs from Punjab, 1 out of 5 MPs from Haryana, and 2 out of 11 MPs from Madhya Pradesh have declared assets worth more than Rs 100 crore.

    The total assets of MPs analyzed from Telangana is Rs 5,596 crore, that of Andhra Pradesh is Rs 3,823 crore, and that of Uttar Pradesh is Rs 1,941 crore. Out of the 225 Rajya Sabha MPs analyzed, 75 have declared criminal cases against themselves. About 41 MPs have declared serious criminal cases and two members have declared cases related to murder.

    Four Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to crimes against women. One MP from Rajasthan has declared a case related to rape. Among the political parties, 23 out of 85 BJP MPs, 12 out of 30 Congress MPs, 4 out of 13 AITC MPs, 5 out of 6 RJD MPs, 4 out of 5 CPI(M) MPs, 3 out of 10 AAP MPs, 3 out of 9 YSRCP MPs, and 2 out of 3 NCP MPs have declared criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits.
