The Hyderabad Metro Rail is moving forward with its expansion in the Old City. On Monday, the state government approved Rs 125 crore for this project.
This expansion is part of Phase II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The work includes widening roads and building stations on a 7.5-kilometer route from MGBS to Chandrayangutta. This development will link the Old City to the current metro system.
About 1,100 properties are impacted by the road widening and station construction. The authorities are compensating property owners as they acquire these properties. There are approximately 105 religious, historical, and sensitive sites along the corridor. The HMR authorities are being very careful to protect these structures.
