1,331 contract employees in Telangana to be regularised as per new orders

The Telangana government has announced that 1331 contract employees in the health department will be made permanent. These employees work in various departments such as Family Welfare, Medical Education, Public Health, and AYUSH. The State Health Minister, T Harish Rao, presented the orders to different employee unions who had previously represented the employees.

The regularisation of contract employees was met with appreciation from the employee union who thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his support. The department-wise break-up of the regularised employees include 68 women Multipurpose Health Assistants (MPHA) from Commissioner of Family Welfare, 72 from Director of Medical Education (DME), 16 pharmacists, 177 lab technicians, 2 paramedical ophthalmic officers, 837 male Multi Purpose Health Assistants (MPHA) in Director of Public Health (DPH) and 19 Medical Officers in AYUSH.
