22 People Elected to Committee at Municipal Workers' Union Meeting

Gadwal: The 3rd District Conference of the Municipal Workers and Employees Union, linked with CITU, ended successfully in Brindavan Garden Function Hall, located in Gadwal town. CITU District President A. Venkataswamy announced the unanimous election of a new 22-member district committee.

V.V. Narasimha was chosen as the Honorary President of the District Union. Sanjeeva Raju takes on the role of President, with Ghattanna as Secretary. Mahender was selected as Treasurer. The Vice-Presidents are Mahesh Kumar, Lalithamma, Veeresh Goud, and Shivanna. Gaddam Narasimha, S. Padma, and Maheshwari Yesepu were elected as Assistant Secretaries.

The conference agreed on several important resolutions:

  • Set up an ESI dispensary in the district.
  • Regularize contract and outsourced workers in municipalities, with a minimum interim wage of ₹26,000 until regularization.
  • Provide benefits to families of deceased workers.
  • Ensure timely monthly salary payments to all workers.
  • Implement PF and ESI facilities properly for municipal employees.
  • Appoint a special officer in each municipality to manage PF implementation.
  • Stop harassment of workers by officials immediately.
  • Supply monthly ration goods, uniforms, and raincoats to workers without delay.

State Union Secretary Janagam Rajamallu and Vice-President Akula Venkatesh congratulated the new committee. They urged quick responses to the challenges faced by municipal workers and stressed the importance of fighting for workers’ rights.

The conference saw participation from CITU District Vice-President Upper Narasimha, leaders from four municipalities, District President of the VOA Association Dam Anji, Mandal President Timmappa, Darur Mandal leader Bheemesh, and many municipal workers.

District President Sanjeeva Raju expressed gratitude and promised that the new committee will focus on protecting municipal workers’ rights and advancing the resolutions with determination.
