At least 26 political parties and 53 leaders have arrived in Bengaluru for a high-profile meeting to discuss their strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting aims to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They will also decide on a name for their alliance, with the slogan “United We Stand”. This meeting follows a similar gathering that took place in Patna last month.

The Congress party has stated that this meeting is a boost to opposition unity as 11 additional parties will be joining. They plan to discuss joint programs at the national level and strategy for the upcoming Parliament session, among other issues. The Congress has criticized the BJP over various matters, including the Manipur violence and the recent Maharashtra political crisis.
