Kothagudem: In an important operation, the Cherla police arrested four people who were helping Maoists in Chhattisgarh by providing them with boats. These boats were being supplied from the Telangana state borders. The police also seized two boats, a DCM vehicle, two tractors, and two motorcycles from the suspects.
Bhadrachalam Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ankit Kumar Sankhwar shared these details during a press conference at Charla police station on Thursday.
According to the ASP, police teams from Cherla, along with Special Party Police and the 141 CRPF battalion, were checking the area near Chintaguppa and Bodanelli village. While doing this, they noticed some people trying to run away when they saw the police at Chintaguppa Jamail garden.
The police chased and caught the suspects. During questioning, the arrested individuals admitted they had been working as militia members for the Maoist party for some time.
The culprits were from Jaripalli Nimmalagudem, located under the jurisdiction of Palmedu and Kishtaram police stations in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Along with the vehicles and boats, the police also found explosives in their possession.
