    Hyderabad: Thousands of Sikh devotees, along with people from other faiths, gathered for a large event called Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation) to celebrate the 555th Prakash Purab (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev on Friday.

    The main celebrations were organized by the Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazar. Over 25,000 people, including Sikhs and followers of other religions, came together to participate in the event and offer prayers to Guru Granth Sahib.

    Special guests, including Lakhwinder Singh from the Golden Temple, Amritsar, Amarjeet Singh from Patiala, Punjab, and other well-known Ragi Jathas (hymn-singing groups) from across the country, were invited to perform. They sang Shabad Keertans (hymns) that focused on promoting higher values in life and the importance of communal harmony, which were key teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.

    During the event, preachers spoke about the teachings of the Sikh Gurus. They emphasized how the Gurus stood for unity, peace, brotherhood, and harmony among all communities. The preachers encouraged everyone to follow the principles and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.

    After the congregation, the traditional Guru-Ka-Langar (free community kitchen) was served to all attendees. Everyone sat together in the same row, following strict discipline, which symbolized unity, brotherhood, and care for one another.
