Jogulamba Gadwal District hosted the National Lok Adalat today at the District Court, led by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The event aimed at delivering quick and friendly justice to the community.
The Adalat resolved a significant number of cases, totaling 6,884. These included 22 civil cases, 6,832 criminal cases that could be compounded, 2 family disputes, 6 accident claims, and 22 cybercrime cases, all settled by mutual agreement.
District Judge N. Premalatha chaired the event, with support from First Additional District Judge S. Ravi Kumar, DLSA Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Senior Civil Judge T. Lakshmi, Principal Junior Civil Judge N.V.H. Poojitha, and First Additional Junior Civil Judge U. Uday Naik. Many advocates, police officials, and department representatives also participated.
Officials highlighted the goal of National Lok Adalats to offer timely and affordable justice. They stressed how these sessions help reduce the pressure on traditional courts by promoting compromise and settlement.
Local residents took advantage of this initiative, resolving long-standing issues through mutual consent, thus avoiding lengthy court battles.
This successful Adalat underscored the judiciary’s commitment to making justice accessible and community-focused.
