In a great move, a transgender person has been chosen as the campaigner for the Telangana election. Typically, the Election Commission selects celebrities to promote changes in the electoral roll, voter awareness, and other campaign activities. However, this time they have chosen a transgender individual for the first time.

The State Election Commission has selected a transgender person from Karimabad, Warangal, and is conducting awareness programs with them. Laila, who leads the transgender community in the combined Warangal district, has organized a special clinic at Warangal MGM Hospital once a week for the welfare of the community. She has also had discussions with district officials to make this happen.
