The Telangana State government has made a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers. This move comes after allegations of irregularities in the power supply to the farming sector during the previous government. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has shown special focus on the Energy sector.
Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, the Health Secretary, has been appointed as the Energy Secretary, taking on additional responsibilities as Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana State Transmission Corporation (TS TRANSCO) and Telangana State Generation Corporation (TS GENCO). Sandeep Kumar Jha, the Joint Secretary for Tourism, has been transferred to the position of Joint Managing Director of TS TRANSCO. D Krishna Bhaskar, the Director of Industries and Joint Secretary for Finance, is now the Officer on Special Duty to the Deputy Chief Minister. Musharraf Ali Farooqui has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL, while Karnati Varun Reddy is now the Chairman and Managing Director of TSNPDCL in Warangal.
Shailaja Ramaiyer, the Principal Secretary for Tourism, has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary for Health, Medical and Family Welfare, and Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare. Amrapali Kata has been posted as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA, with additional responsibilities as Managing Director of MRDCL. B Gopi is now the Director of Agriculture.
